Meet Our Team

Everyone on our team receives extensive ongoing training on body language, proper socialization, and how to assess and integrate dogs safely. We commit commit to ongoing monthly training to continue to develop our skills, and attend seminars from prominent trainers to grow and develop. We believe being the best is an ongoing longterm career commitment, as opposed to a one time certification.

TOBEY GREY

Trainer & Behavioral Consultant/ Owner

“Canine Comprehensive was born out of an idea: helping people communicate and live in harmony with their dogs. I want to help your dog have the fullest life possible.”

Always drawn to large breeds, Tobey owned a string of rescue dogs with aggression problems and saw how challenging it was to own a dog in a city with a full time job. They pivoted careers after 15 years in the restaurant industry. While working with people was amazing, late nights behind a bar and working inside grew tiring.

After years of rehabilitating foster dogs, devouring training theory, and attending behavioral seminars Canine Comprehensive was born in 2014. The goal was supporting owners in giving their dogs a full life. In their spare time, Tobey volunteers with various Bay Area rescues training and fostering shelter dogs to help them find homes.At home Tobey lives with a Pitbull (Eddie) and a Doberman (Seven)- both dogs were rescued from Oakland Animal Services.

Kalif Lee

trainER & Behavioral Consultant

“The bond between human and canine has always fascinated me. My work at Canine Comprehensive allows me to experience it up close and personal on a daily basis, and help dog owners strengthen that bond with their own pet.”

Kalif has an extensive background in education and has worked with children in various settings delivering educational training centered on diversity and nonviolent conflict resolution. Before joining our team in 2021, Kalif taught children at the Oakland Zoo on conservation, animal health, and welfare. His educational background makes him adept at helping clients learn how to improve their handling, and get lasting results. He also works directly with dogs at our Board and Train program.

Kalif shares his life with his dogs ALA (Pitbull x Heeler x Husky) and Pok (Czech Wolfdog x Malinois).

Jennifer mckenna

PACK LEAD

"It is hard to explain the sense of fulfillment that I receive simply by enriching animals’ lives though taking them outdoors, enforcing their training and appreciating their individual temperaments."

Jennifer came to us for training help for her reactive dog Finn in 2020. Throughout the process, Jennifer fell in love with the world of dog training. She now walks dogs, helps out at our facility, and works on the administrative side of our Dog Walking business. Jennifer has extensive experience working in museums and archives, and has been volunteering at The Lindsay Wildlife Experience since 2018!

Jennifer loves being outdoors, and in her spare time races sailboats in the San Francisco Bay and hang with her 8 cats and the family gecko.

MARS BAIRD

TRAINING APPRENTICE/ Kennel tech

“To have the opportunity to enrich the lives of so many animals on a personal level is immensely rewarding and I could not be more grateful for the experiences I’ve had that led me here.”

Mars joined our team fresh from a move from Portland to their home in the Bay. They have spent their entire life around animals and see dogs as kindred spirits. Mars also worked as a manager with boarding facilities and dog-daycares. With a background in grooming as well, Mars is our go to for our dogs in Board and Train to look their best for graduation day. In their responsibilities Mars always prioritizes making connections with dogs and their humans.

Mars’ favorite thing about dogs is the infinite variety of personalities; each dogs’ energy is infectious, and they love to match it. In their spare time, Mars hangs out with their cat, Sebastian, and is counting down the days to their next canine family member.

Angelica rodas

DOG WALKER

An Oakland native, Angelica brings experience in behavioral therapy and animal-care to our team. Having learned from hands-on work as a sales associate at Mike's Feed and Pet, Angelica has built a strong sense of service and attention to detail. These, combined with a proficiency in pet grooming, kennel maintenance, and lessons from her own animals aligned perfectly with our team. Seeing our packs flourish under her care is a daily joy.

Aside from animal-care, Angelica also assists in behavioral therapy for children with special needs. She has experience delivering 1:1 instruction, implementing behavioral plans, and applying reinforcement strategies to encourage positive behaviors.

Angelica loves poems, music, and spending her downtime with her pets. She has two birds named Larimar and Mico, two dogs named Luna and Esme, and a colorful flock of chickens (23, last counting!).

JuDE NOEL

DOG WALKER

With years of experience in foster work, dog walking, and animal care under her belt, she hit the ground running after a move to the Bay Area. Her resume includes working with Wag!,  independent walks, independent sitting, and general animal care - all while pursuing her higher education in Programming/C++. 

She has foundational skill in handler techniques and walking techniques, and experience in administration of medication from her fosterwork spectifically.

Emma Hines

Office manager

Bringing creativity, organization, and a genuine love of dogs to the team, Emma is an administrative professional with a background in Fine Art and digital marketing. 

Before coming to Canine Comprehensive Emma managed the office of a small organic farm. She brings this experience and a warm personality to the team. She’s here for you for any questions, help with scheduling, and generally loves to chat. Working around the facility and with our walking packs- Emma is uniquely suited to help with questions as she has hands-on dog experience. 

As a lover of the outdoors, Emma traded upstate New York for the trails of California in 2025. When she’s not hiking, Emma also is an accomplished working artist. She is a multi-media painter focusing on her love of nature, and you can see her work on her website.
